The Tondón Palace in Briñas has passed into the hands of the AC Hotels chain. The luxury establishment was until now managed by the chain through a lease, but was owned by the company Grupo Hotel Briñas, which opened it in June 2018 when they entered fully into luxury wine tourism with several projects in the region, including this building. Although AC Hotels had been in charge of the hotel for some time, it was not until now that it also took over its ownership.
Founded by businessmen Pedro Jiménez and José Luis Martín, it was they who were in charge of the complete renovation of the 16th and 17th century buildings that were part of a group of manor houses in the historic center of Briñas. The Palacio Tondón thus became a spectacular four-star hotel with 33 rooms, several of them suites, and with the Ebro as the protagonist. Like a combination of stone and wood, and with gastronomy as an important part of their tourist experience, in which they had the culinary advice of one of the current Michelin stars of La Rioja: Miguel Caño.
With this acquisition, AC Hoteles reinforces its presence in La Rioja, where it already has a hotel in Logroño. Hotel Briñas SL has scheduled an Extraordinary General Meeting for 21 January, at which it will officially agree to proceed with the sale of the hotel.
